Project management is a complex task. The goal of project management is to organize this work with the help process groups and project management knowledge. The scope management knowledge area defines the work required. PMP scope management ensures that only the work required is completed. According to the online PMP course, Create Work Breakdown Structure is the fourth process of Scope Management. WBS is abbreviated to Work Breakdown Structure and the Create Work Breakdown Structure process aims to produce the WBS for the project.

What is the Objective of WBS
As we have said, a project can be a complex undertaking and there must be many deliverables and work throughout the project’s life cycle. The main purpose of Create WBS is to break down project deliverables and work into manageable pieces. This is what the PMI training describes. This is done to improve estimation, management, coordination, and monitoring. WBS is part of project planning and WBS is one the three parts of Scope baseline. WBS Dictionary and Project Scope Statement are also included.
Let’s take an example of an e-commerce website. It will be difficult for the project team members to provide estimates for the project. However, if you break down the project into smaller parts like Database, Screens, and Services, it will be easier for them to give their estimates. You can also subdivide the major parts into smaller parts such as login screen and payment screen, member profile screen, etc. It will be easier to provide estimates, assign activities, coordinate and monitor the project.
WBS makes it easier for the project team to work together. With these smaller parts, the project’s success is guaranteed.
4 Aspects of WBS
WBS has four aspects that help project managers better manage their projects. Let’s take a look at each of these four aspects.
WBS gives you a clear vision of what needs to be delivered. It includes both major packages that must be delivered and smaller deliverables which will complete the major parts. This allows smaller deliverables to be visible to the project team.
WBS allows you to understand the project better. Because it is the hierarchy of project deliverables which will allow for the completion of the project product. WBS will therefore show which deliverables are needed to complete what part of the project and how they will fit into the project product.
WBS illustrates the hierarchy of deliverables. This makes it easy to see what is required to complete a work package.
WBS can be organized in phases or major deliverables. This means that if there is no product in the project, a service can be delivered instead. Analyse, development, testing and integration are just some examples. These are all major phases of a project. If a product is involved, deliverables will include screens, databases, infrastructure, etc. Software projects.
WBS Example
Let’s now look at a sample WBS.
The figure shows an example of a work breakdown structure for an airplane manufacturing project. The final product is the Aircraft System, as you can see. This is the top product in the hierarchy.

On the second level are the major deliverables and activities of an aircraft system. These include Project Management, Training, Data and Air Vehicle. As
